In the first edition of the festival we will welcome three juries: one specifically composed of children who will attribute the\u00a0DoctorGummy Award for Best Film<\/strong>\u00a0(prize of 500\u20ac), another composed of professionals in the field, who will attribute two prizes: Best Feature Film <\/strong>(1.250\u20ac)\u00a0and Best Short Film <\/strong>(750\u20ac). An Audience Jury will give Trina Audience Award<\/strong> (500\u20ac).<\/p>\n

Animation Director, Producer, Teacher and Museum Director<\/h5>\n

Licence in Graphic Art at the Oporto School of Art (80). Internship at the National Film Board<\/b> of Canada (85), where he directs and animates his first film.<\/p>\n

Creator of\u00a0 Film\u00f3grafo <\/b>\u2013 Animation Studio (87), Casa da Anima\u00e7\u00e3o<\/b> \u2013 Cultural Association (01), Ciclope Filmes <\/b>– Animation Studio (02) and Quinta Imagem <\/b>\u2013 Cultural Association (12) that helds the Casa Museu de Vilar \u2013 The Moving Image Museum. <\/span><\/p>\n

As a Director he signs the films How Calm it is <\/i><\/b>(85), Time of Darkness<\/i><\/b> (87), The Outlaws <\/i><\/b>(93), Fado Lusitano<\/i><\/b> (95), and Stowaway<\/i><\/b> (00), among others, with them he receives 40 Awards and Mentions, including The Cartoon d’Or Special Jury Award’94.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a P<\/strong>roducer<\/b> (since 97), he produces Regina Pessoa’s films: The Night<\/i><\/b> (99), Tragic Story with Happy Ending<\/i><\/b> (05) and Kali the Little Vampire<\/i><\/b> (12). These films won 80 Awards and Mentions, Including the Cristal d’Annecy’06 and The Hiroshima Prize’12. He just finish the production of a new pixilation film Am\u00e9lia & Duarte<\/i><\/b> (15) by M\u00f3nica Santos and Alice E\u00e7a Guimar\u00e3es <\/span><\/p>\n

He leads several animation workshops in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Israel, Scotland, Poland and Brazil, mainly with children (since 85) and young people.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is a teacher at the Universidade Cat\u00f3lica do Porto (99-01), the Escola Superior Art\u00edstica do Porto (since 2002), The Tainan National University of the Arts (Taiwan), the ESAP – Guimar\u00e3es (since 2009) and at the Universidade do Algarve (12-13). <\/span><\/p>\n

He has also President<\/b> of ASIFA – Association International du Film d’Animation (00-02) where he launched the idea of the International Animation Day, and Vice President<\/b> of the ASIFA Workshop Group (95-01). <\/span><\/p>\n

Co-author of the interactive manual Teaching With Animation <\/b>(www.animwork.dk\/twa<\/span><\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n

He just opened an Animation Museum at the Casa de Vilar, Lousada (Mai 2014), he is producing a short animation film Tio Tom\u00e1s e a Contabilidade dos Dias<\/i><\/b> by Regina Pessoa, a co-production with the ONF\/NFB of Canada and the Studio Film Bilder, Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marta Madureira<\/span><\/h4>\n

<\/p>\n

Marta Madureira was born and lives in Porto.<\/p>\n

She’s a communication designer, illustrator and teacher at Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico do C\u00e1vado e do Ave, where she teaches a bachelor course of graphic illustration and a masters course of illustration and animation.<\/p>\n

She has been awarded with several relevant prizes in her field, like the special mention Pr\u00e9mio Nacional de Ilustra\u00e7\u00e3o (2010 and 2011), the 1st 3×3 Magazine of Contemporary Illustration 2012 prize, the SPA award – Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores 2016, silver medal in the Clube de Criatibos de Portugal 2016 contest, inclusion in the White Ravens 2016 catalogue and silver medal in the illustration category in the Art Directors Club of Europe.<\/p>\n

She has illustrated 20 children’s books with writings by Ad\u00e9lia Carvalho,\u00a0\u00c1lvaro Magalh\u00e3es, Ana Lu\u00edsa Amaral, Ant\u00f3nio Mota, In\u00eas Fonseca Santos, Jos\u00e9 Vaz, Manuel Ant\u00f3nio Pina, Verg\u00edlio Alberto Vieira, entre outros.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is the author and director, alongside Pedro Mota Teixeira, of the animation series “As M\u00e1quinas de Maria”, financed by the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual.<\/p>\n

She is, alongside Ad\u00e9lia Carvalho, the co-founder of the publisher Tcharan.<\/p>\n

Robert-Jan Lacombe<\/span><\/h4>\n

<\/p>\n

Born in 1986 in Mandima, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Joint French and Dutch citizenship. Since 2006 lives in Switzerland. 2008-2011 Attends the ECAL (\u00c9cole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne), cinema department. 2011 Receives degree from ECAL.<\/span><\/p>\n

At 8 years old, I moved to the island of Madeira where I stayed for 8 years. At 16, I moved to Porto and I’ve been living here for almost 3 years.<\/p>\n

O meu nome \u00e9 Francisca Dores, tenho 18 anos e frequento a Escola Art\u00edstica Soares dos Reis. Estou no \u00faltimo ano do curso Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Audiovisual, na especialidade V\u00eddeo, e tenciono tirar um curso superior em Realiza\u00e7\u00e3o, atrav\u00e9s do qual pretendo come\u00e7ar uma pequena produtora cinematogr\u00e1fica e realizar filmes de autor. Tenho, assim, especial interesse pelo cinema e a fotografia mas tamb\u00e9m pelos v\u00e1rios campos da arte, como a literatura e a poesia, o desenho e a pintura.<\/p>\n

My name is Francisca Dores and I’m 18 years old. I’m studying at Escola Art\u00edstica Soares dos Reis. I’m on the last year of the Audiovisual Communication course, in the video department, and I’m planning on taking a higher education course in directing. From that point on, I’d like to start a small film production company and start directing author films. I have a very special interest in film and photography but also in other artistic mediums like literature, poetry, drawing and painting.<\/p>\n
