For this 9th edition, we invited illustrator and animation director Alexandra Allen to reflect on the theme of community. The result is a vibrant creation made up of colorful characters that will bring the festival to life until February 2, 2025.

As a festival that seeks to reflect on contemporaneity, offering through cinema and its various parallel activities a positive, reflective, real and imaginary perspective on life and humanity, and taking into account the current contexts of the world, such as wars with a consequent violence towards children, in various parts of the planet, we have defined the theme of this edition of the festival as “COMMUNITY” – with the aim of opening a window of positive light to build a better world, with more empathy.

Cinema is, par excellence, a community space, that is, cinemas are places that bring together people from different backgrounds with a common purpose. We want to create spaces to reflect on how we can be better as a community. Through the films we present, we will explore the spirit of collective construction and the positive gains that come from making and discovering together.

It is with this optimism for children and young people that we begin another edition in Porto!
