Official Awards and Juries

University of Porto Impact Award

This award is given by a jury composed of adults and young people and is worth €1,000.
It is offered by the Rectorate of the University of Porto, as part of its commitment to promoting culture, active citizenship, and critical thinking among younger audiences.
The Impact Award distinguishes the film that stands out most for its social, cultural, or educational relevance, valuing works that promote reflection, dialogue, and impact on communities.

Sérgio Brito

Sérgio Brito has a master’s degree in Editorial Design from FBAUP, U.Porto. He works at Casa Comum (U.Porto) and MHNCUP. With a passion for collecting—art, music, and hobbies—and trinkets, he searches for the heart, his favorite shape, in everyday life.

Geanine Escobar (she)

She is a researcher, curator, community museology activist, PhD student in Museology at Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa, and FCT scholarship recipient. She is a research member of the AGRRIN Project – “Generating bodies: from aggression to insurgency – Contributions to a decolonial pedagogy” (2023-2026).
She is a member and co-founder of the LGBTQIA+ Network for Memory and Social Museology in Brazil and coordinator of the Study Group “Sociomuseology and Intersectionality – Gender, Race, and Class” (Somus-Interseccional) within the scope of the UNESCO Chair in Education, Citizenship, and Cultural Diversity, managed by the Department of Museology/CeiED.

Beatriz Balbi

She is a 2nd-year student in the Literature and Estu degree program.

Francisco Campos

He holds a degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Communication and Management of Creative Industries from the University of Porto. He is part of the U.Porto Mentoring Program team at the Rector’s Office, where he works in institutional communication, strategic management, public relations, and the production of cultural and scientific events.
He is developing a personal project that combines photography, culture, and digital communication.

APEI Award

The APEI Award is given by a jury of three children and is worth €250.
This award is offered by the Association of Early Childhood Education Professionals (APEI), which promotes the value of early childhood education and the active participation of children in cultural and educational contexts. It recognizes the film that most engages, excites, and represents the perspective of children as a critical audience.

Audience Award

The Audience Award, worth €300, is awarded through a vote by the audience attending the festival screenings. It aims to distinguish the film that most captivates the audience, encouraging the active participation of viewers and valuing their experience and involvement with the program.
