The University of Porto is an essential partner in IndieJúnior’s expansion throughout the city, hosting several of the festival’s initiatives. The collaboration begins with the preview for teachers and includes the warm-up, which this year took place on January 17 at Casa Comum.
Among the various contributions, the Prémio Impacto, awarded by the Rector’s Office, stands out, distinguishing a film for its thematic value, social impact, aesthetic care, and creativity. The jury includes members of the University and high school students, promoting an exchange between generations.
The partnership also extends to workshops at the Biodiversity Gallery and support in accessibility issues, with translation into Portuguese Sign Language provided by University professionals and the respective inclusion support center.
In this edition, thanks to the support of the University, the festival also includes sessions at the Porto Planetarium and the participation of the Children’s Choir of the Faculty of Arts, which reinforces the community and festive character of this celebration.
A partnership that has lasted for years and is fundamental to the growth of IndieJúnior Porto.
